Coachella 2012 to be Held Over Two Weekends

Coachella’s official website states:

“We’re excited to announce Coachella 2012 will be held over TWO WEEKENDS.

In an effort to try and accommodate everyone who wants to experience the festival, COACHELLA 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends. We will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends. That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people.”

Coachella Weekend 1 – April 13-15, 2012 | Coachella Weekend 2 – April 20-22, 2012

I don’t know how I feel about this! Coachella is supposed to be a unique experience, if tickets sell out then oh well, you’re out of luck. No matter how hard Coachella tries, they can never make two identical events! How will we talk about the festivals: “Were you at Coachella 1 or Coachella 2 this year?”-  sounds weird right!? Also, many are concerned about the quality of the performances. How does Coachella expect to get the best performers and DJ’s to commit to two weekends? Let us know, what do you guys think??
