Do YOU Know a Sociopath?

5 Jun

Sociopaths have always freaked me out. They are people who feel no remorse or empathy for others. They feel no emotional connections to others and have zero regard for the rules and regulations of society. They prey upon people and wish to control them. It’s all about winning and personal gain. They are fucking freaky! It is estimated that about 1 in 100 people is a sociopath. The good news is, is that us normal people, we naturally shy away from sociopaths. They freak us on out a subconscious level. So trust your instincts. Below is a list of traits that are associated with sociopaths, if you know one – cut all ties and run for the hills my friend! Unless you want to be associated with the likes of Ted Bundy and Joran Van Der Sloot.

TRAITS:

-Superficial charm

-Narcissism, grandiosity (self-importance not based on achievements)

-Impulsive

-Yearning for excitement is an inability to tolerate routine or monotony

-Easily bored

-Skin temp and heart rate lower than most people

-Lack of remorse, shame or guilt

-Callousness/lack of empathy

-Poor behavioral controls/impulsive nature

-Promiscuous sexual behavior/infidelity

-Paranoid

-Long term childhood bedwetting

-Animal Abuse

-Conventional appearance

-Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim’s affirmation

-Unable to feel remorse or guilt

Personally, I think some of this is a crock, especially this one “Yearning for excitement is an inability to tolerate routine or monotony”. That is such a ridiculously stupid way to label someone, regardless of whether or not the person was a sociopath. Reason being, some people might simply enjoy lots of excitement and don’t like routine things or monotony. Labeling a person because they might not be like monotony is more psycho than anything else.

“Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim’s affirmation” contradicts “They feel no emotional connections to others and have zero regard for the rules and regulations of society.” If one were sociopathically inclined, they would feel no urge to justify what they do. You only have to justify an action if it were reprehensible and as one who is sociopathic feels no remorse or guilt, there would be no need to justify any action.

“Skin temp and heart rate lower than most people” – I didn’t realise sociopaths were vampires now.

The study I snagged this from didn’t indicate that having one of the traits meant someone was a sociopath. I think its if something has a strong combo…but I see your point!

“The good news is, is that us normal people, we naturally shy away from sociopaths. They freak us on out a subconscious level.” – Also false.

“Unless you want to be associated with the likes of Ted Bundy and Joran Van Der Sloot.” – Do you know the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath? It appears as if you don’t.

Please learn the difference before posting stuff like this onto the internet. You give sociopaths a bad name and propogate ignorance.

“Give sociopaths a bad name?”……um,……they are sociopaths…..they have a bad name……they are bad people……and the differences between a sociopath and psychopath are very few……
